How are flexible PCBs made?

Speaking of PCB, a large metal board always flashes through my mind. In fact, if you take apart relatively thin and light electronic products such as laptops or LCD screens, you will find a lot of soft and bendable "origami PCBA" inside.
The core layer of this type of PCB is an ultra-thin polymer film. First, the polymer film will be sandwiched between two copper sheets by the machine.
After the upper machine cuts the rectangular slices uniformly, they are separated by laminates to form a stack.
Then it is sent to the vacuum pump box to tightly suck the layers together, and then sent to the high temperature and high pressure box for processing for several hours. Because the polymer film located in the middle layer has a heat-activated adhesive coating, the original 3 The layers will be bonded as a whole.
This stack of press plates will then be cut into a fixed size board and drilled with small holes to facilitate assembly, and then the fourth layer of photosensitive film is glued on the surface of the printed board by a film adding machine.
