Question:
Do I need a separate converter to hook this up to an older 3 prong 220 volt outlet?
Answer:
Yes, you would need to acquire an adapter.
Question:
Answer:
If the temperature gets too high, the charger's safety equipment reduces the current to reduce temperature but after a certain point will stop charging for safety.
We note in the installation guide to avoid installations in direct sunlight in areas that might exceed consistent operating temperatures of 104F although we've tested our units up to 122F.
You wouldn't get a notification about this. Instead, the charger will just alter it's function.
Question:
Does this unit have any kind of surge protection?
Answer:
Why is Wallbox conflating GFCI (ground fault interrupter) with a surge suppressor here, as they are 2 different things?
Question:
How do you adjust the amperage to match your outlet capacity?
Answer:
There are two ways to manage the charging current of your charger. During installation, your installer can set the physical current selector switch inside the charger to the appropriate amperage suitable for the connected circuit. This is to ensure that neither the charger nor your vehicle draws more than 80% of the connected circuit’s maximum rating (per the National Electrical Code).
You can also adjust using the app. On the charger app screen, tap the amperage adjustment wheel and scroll clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust to your preferred power setting. Scroll anti-clockwise to reduce the amperage.
