What is Pin Header Connector?
A pin header connector is a male (plug) connector with square pins which are molded into a plastic insulator. Most often manufactured with single or dual rows, pin headers are also available with 3 rows or more. Pin header connectors are typically mated with a socket header (receptacle) providing a reliable and economical board-to-board connection.
Engineering Options:
Pin header connectors are available in vertical or right-angle orientations. Common pitch options are 1.00mm, 1.27mm, 2.00mm, and 2.54mm. These connectors can be supplied with PC tail (through hole) or SMT (surface mount) terminations. Alignment posts help to facilitate placement of SMT parts onto the PCB prior to soldering. Single, dual, or triple insulators options are available.

1. What is pin header?
Row pin, a kind of connector, English Name: pin header
This kind of connector is widely used in PCB circuit boards in electronics,
electrical appliances and instruments. Its function is to act as a bridge
between blocked or isolated circuits in the circuit, and undertake the task of
current or signal transmission. It is usually used together with the busbar to
form a plate to plate connection; Or it can be used together with the
electronic harness terminal to form a board to line connection; It can also be
used for board to board connection independently. As the specifications
required by different products are not the same, there are many types of pins.
According to the standard of pin connectors in the electronic industry, the
pins can be divided into five categories: 2.54mm, 2.00mm, 1.27mm, 1.00mm and
0.8mm. According to the number of rows, there are single row pins, double row
pins and three row pins; According to the packaging method, SMT (horizontal /
vertical) and dip (direct / bending) are used; According to the installation

2. Working principle of pin arrangement

thermal shock without being easily separated from PCB.

is usually a high-power element, which can meet the needs of different
transmission of high voltage and large current.
4. These advantages are weakened with the reduction of component adhesion on
the PCB. The characteristics of the pin row mother element are compact design
and easy mounting, which is obviously different from the pin row with through
holes in size and assembly form.
5. Having electrical resistance refers to the ability to withstand the rated
test voltage between the pins, between the contacts, or between the contacts
and the shell.
6. Generally, the pin and busbar can adapt to the attenuation caused by
electromagnetic interference and the ability to shield electromagnetic
interference.
7. The contact resistance of the row pins should be small, which can be as
small as tens of milliohms.
