Incubation aspect
A brief introduction to the current common methods of incubation:
1. Disinfect before use. Vermiculite can be disinfected by sun exposure, soaking in disinfectant water, boiling in water, etc.; after disinfection, it is dried and sealed for later use.
2, soaking. After soaking the vermiculite with clean water, squeeze the water in the vermiculite by hand (as long as the water cannot be squeezed out). If it is too wet, add some dry vermiculite and mix it in. Because vermiculite has strong water absorption capacity, it has a good moisturizing effect, and the degree of moisturizing is easy to grasp. It doesn't matter if it is too wet, unlike sand, it is obvious if it is too wet. The humidity should be grasped with your hands, and feel wet, and it is better to let go without clumping.
3. Into the box. Spread a layer of wet vermiculite with a thickness of 5-10cm. After placing the turtle eggs, pave a layer of wet vermiculite with a thickness of 2-5cm.
4. It can be stamped or not. Check once a week, depending on the vermiculite humidity to decide whether to spray water. Generally, from hatching to emergence of capping, spray water at least once or twice in the middle.
5. After the incubation is over, dry and seal, and reuse it next year.
