Gang- Means electric circles or buttons. 1 Gang means 1 button, 2 Gang means 2 buttons, 3 Gang means 3 buttons.

Way- 1 Way means the switch contorls the lamp at 1 place. 2 Way means the switches control the lamps at 2 different places. If you need to do 2 way control, you need 2 pieces of 2 way switches for 1 lamp.

Intermediate switch--When you need to control a lamp at more than 3 places, you will need intermediate switches to be installed between 2 pieces of 2 way switches.
